Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Catholic faith was brought here from our Bavarian-German ancestors and has been kept alive in the Village of Plain since 1857. The beautiful church of Saint Luke which sits on top of the hill, has played a significant role in meeting the spiritual needs of thousands in our community and beyond during this time. Some parishioners travel from many miles away, while others walk from nearby. Today, our thriving parish community comprises of around 500 families.
We continue to celebrate the involvement of its parishioners in our parish community through its Catholic school, numerous programs, committees, activities, and social events. We do all this for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
The strength of Saint Luke is twofold. First and foremost, its foundation is that of the Holy Eucharist. The Body and Blood of Jesus nourishes us as a parish and as parishioners. Second, its strength lies in the stewardship of its people. Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes, receives and cultivates God's gifts and generously share these gifts in love of God and neighbor. Through the generous sharing of time, talent and treasure, the families of Saint Luke reflect the light and mission of Jesus Christ and His Church.
If you are visiting Plain, or just passing through, we welcome you to come and pray with us.
God Bless, Father John
