Saint VeronicaSaint Veronica is the woman who wiped the face of Jesus while he was carrying the cross. When the veil was handed back to her an imprint of Jesus face remained on the veil.
It is said that Veronica later traveled to Rome to present the cloth to the Roman Emperor Tiberius and the veil possesses miraculous properties, being able to quench thirst, cure blindness, and sometimes even raise the dead. It is believed that the relic (Veronica's Veil) still exists at St. Peter's Basilica. Saint Veronica is the patron saint of photographers and laundry workers. Her feast day is July 12.
