Saint Teresa Benedicta of the CrossBefore taking the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Edith Stein was so drawn to the life of St. Teresa of Avila that she began her spiritual journey and was baptized in 1922, converting from Judaism to Catholicism.
She studied to become a philosopher, eventually joined the Caremlites and sadly, died in Aushwitz on August 9, 1942. St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross is the patron saint of Europe. Her feast day is August 9. Find more information on St. Teresa Benedicta HERE |
