Saint Lucy

There is not much known about St. Lucy, but it is believed that she consecrated her virginity to God.  Lucy's devotion to God and refusal to marry angered her rejected bridegroom, he denounced her as a Christian.  Lucy was sentenced to death - a torturous affair that involved having her eyes gouged out.  It is said that after she died, her eyes had been restored.

Saint Lucy is the patron saint of blindness.

Her feast day is February 13.
