Family Catechesis
Parents are the most influential agents for catechesis for their children. They have a unique responsibility for the education of their children; they ware the first educators, or catechists. They catechize primarily by the witness of their Christian lives and by their love for the faith...Their participation in the the life of the parish -- above all in the Sunday Eucharist -- their willingness to evangelize and serve others, and their dedication to daily prayer demonstrate the authenticity of their profession of faith. (NDC pg. 234).
Our goal with Family Catechesis at St. Luke is to help, equip, and support parents to thrive in their role as the first teachers of the faith for their children.
Beginning in September 2022, parents and children will come together once a month for Family Night! This will occur on the the FIRST WEDNESDAY of the month. The rest of the month, you will work through the materials as a family at home (we call this the Domestic Church - families living out the faith on a daily basis). Meg will send weekly updates, reminders, and additional materials to help guide you each week.
